prototype

This is our first prototype that was built in Mineral Bluff, Georgia, about 20 minutes north of downtown Blue Ridge. It has a sonotube column foundation, 8′ opening double sliding glass doors, and an electric tri-zone ductless mini split HVAC. To keep the footprint small, we used wardrobes instead of closets in both bedrooms.

We also did something a little different with the handrail system, opting for wood slats that extend down to a skirt along the bottom of the foundation to give some “enclosed” storage below the house. We added an access gate on one side, as well as a staircase that leads down to the fire pit peninsula at the other end.
